Moving the Parliament to Berlin
Until the end of July we had to move in total 32,000 cubic meters inside 11,216 containers from the shores of the Rhine to the river Spree in Berlin.
A truly gigantic task:
38,000 meters of office files
46,000 book cartons
1,300 computers
3,400 art objects
3,800 individual offices
950 other rooms
several internal print shops
From July 5th to 30th we had between 180 and 200 personnel working daily.
The new home, the refurbished German "Reichstag" in Berlin
Not only offices find their way to Berlin for a new home.
There are over 4000 staff and their families to follow.

Confern-Partner such as Kopania shall be ready to take care of these moves.
For ecological reasons the railway was chosen as the main carrier.
All removal volume was loaded into containers and moved to the goods rail station Kln-Eifeltor. Cranes lifted the containers onto trains.
At the rail station Berlin the containers were moved onto trucks and taken to the 18 locations which serve as offices for government and parliament.
The Deutsche Bahn Cargo AG had 19 trains running daily between Bonn and Berlin.
